Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. She was the home of her mother as a mother. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. From a young age McCormick enjoyed singing as well as dance. She would also put on puppet shows for youngsters in the area. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6. This led to a call from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she'd like to be in show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964 which was when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. In the following year, she appeared as Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for The Wind It Up and It's Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children to play the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed newlyweds, who shared a blended-family. The show lasted five years. McCormick disclosed in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year period in the series. He was just 19. She was 16. This would have occurred, she says. But, the time for our marriage was not right.
