Davis started her career at the age of three, when she was featured in commercials on television. In her early years her character became a frequent guest on Charles In Charge. The show was ranked first on the ratings for syndication. Josie received three nominations, and also won the highly regarded Youth In FIlm Award for her performance as Sarah Powell. Davis played a lead role in numerous television movies as an adult. Davis was awarded Lifetime Movie Network Awards for her work. Davis was a student of actor Paul E Richards intensively for nearly twenty years, despite the fact that she could be enrolled in the prestigious USC Writing Program. In the age group of 24, Davis auditioned for Hollywood heavyweights, Shelley Winters, Mark Rydell and Martin Landau. Davis did not have a lot of experience, having only done one audition in the famed Actors Studio with privileges of being employed there, was made a lifetime member after an invitation to audition. Over one thousand actors took part in auditions, making Davis only one of two actors to be accepted in the year that she was accepted.
